El Ministerio del Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible (MADES), junto con la Municipalidad de Luque, presentó el proyecto ejecutivo para la ampliación de la Planta de Reciclado de Residuos Sólidos Urbanos del municipio. La iniciativa forma parte del proyecto “Soluciones Libres de Mercurio y Contaminantes Orgánicos Persistentes (COP)”.
La propuesta busca aumentar la capacidad de reciclaje, mejorar las condiciones de trabajo de los recicladores urbanos y fortalecer la gestión ambiental en la ciudad. Entre las acciones previstas se incluyen:
• Construcción de nueva infraestructura para el acopio y clasificación segura de residuos reciclables.
• Implementación de protocolos de trazabilidad y manejo responsable.
• Capacitaciones a la ciudadanía para promover la separación de residuos en origen.
• Dotación de equipos de protección personal y formación técnica a los recicladores.
Esta ampliación convertirá a Luque en un referente nacional en reciclaje y economía circular, promoviendo la inclusión laboral y el desarrollo sostenible.
El acto contó con la participación de representantes del sector privado como Paresa, Cartones Yaguareté, la Cámara de Industrias Sustentables del Paraguay, Fundación Moisés Bertoni y Soluciones Ecológicas, además de comisiones vecinales y recicladores del municipio.
El proyecto es liderado por el MADES y cuenta con el apoyo de ONUDI, el Ministerio de Salud, el Ministerio del Interior, la ANDE, OPACI, el LATU y CEAMSO.
